Make your own infographics using a new tool, Visual.ly – Here’s how I tweet

I’ve been lax about blogging. I know. But a fun new tool I found (via Twitter of course) inspired me to blog today. Visual.ly allows you to create and customize a variety of different infographics, pulling in data from websites like Twitter and Facebook. Infographics are an incredible way to present information in a fun and interesting and, most importantly, easy-to-digest way. Much more fun than a bulleted list or even a standard chart or graph.

Here is one I made for “Discover Your Twitter Character”:

This particular infographic wizard allowed me to select my sex, hair and eye color, hairstyle and more. I could have also done a face-off to compare myself with another Twitter account. I love how it dubbed me a rock star and knows I like books. How cool.

I had seen a few tweets and blog posts about Visual.ly – here is one article from The Social Times that shows several other types of infographics that can be generated from Visual.ly including a Facebook monster, your recent photos, etc.

I plan to have much fun with this. Have you used Visual.ly? Share your results below in the comments!
