I have my 6th game published in the July 2007 issue of Games Magazine, from Kappa Publishing. This game is called ‘Built to Scale’ which has 21 clues to words with the letters DO, RE, MI, FA, SO, LA, and TI missing. Clever, huh?
I LOVE coming up with ideas for this magazine, as I grew up with word games. I love play on words and am always looking into letters and words for something more, hence my obession with word puzzles! I am so happy that this magazine took an interest in my creations.
About Games Magazine: Games Magazine is published 12 times per year by Kappa Publishing. The magazine, in addition to its famous Pencil Wise puzzle section has a glossy section too, with contests, articles, reviews, puzzles and more. Every cover of the magazine always has a game, too, probably the most popular being the Eyeball Benders.
What Else I Have Had Published in Games: Merger Madness, Celebrity Endorsements, Typ0-Casting, Independence Day and Book Ends– all through the past few years.
For Other Writers: I have found Games to be easier to break into than traditional article-based magazines. The downside to this is that it is not really ‘writing’ per say, but creating. However, they do accept reviews and articles as well. The pay per piece is pretty decent, too. The publishing company puts out many other titles too, such as Games World of Puzzles and also puzzle book collections.
Submission Guidelines: How to get your games published, too.
